Peri/Prenatal Massage
Changes during and after pregnancy can lead to increased emotional, mental and physical stress and discomfort.
Massage provides means to decrease discomforts of pregnancy, reduce stress, increase circulation, reduce pain, assist with relaxation/sleep and provide nurturing and social contact. Massage can create the same positive psychological states and increased alpha, brainwave activity as a meditation, offering a moment of undisturbed and quiet breath.
Increased relaxation facilitates healthy circulation to the uterus that improves fetal well-being, and the well-being of mom too!
A pregnancy pillow and side-lying position is used to prevent putting pressure on the abdomen during a prenatal/perinatal massage.
